The Legislative Director will be primarily responsible for working in conjunction with the Co-Chairs to develop a legislative agenda that fights for student needs at the local, state, and national levels. The Legislative Director will flag all legislation that is introduced and relevant to UC students, and work with the Co-Chairs to create a list of core priorities. The Legislative Director will use trackers to follow bills and update the Executive Board about progress and upcoming committee hearings, votes, or other deadlines. The Legislative Director will also provide the written content for social media posts & leave-behind materials to the Comms Director. Finally, the Legislative Director will work with Lobby Trainers to prepare bill briefings. The Legislative Director will also maintain a working database of key legislators and their positions on student issues. Like all officers, they are required to attend all Lobby Corps meetings and quarterly retreats, and are required to hold two (2) regularly scheduled office hours per week or more.
