The Legislative Director will be primarily responsible for working in conjunction with the Co-Chairs to develop a legislative agenda that fights for student needs at the local, state, and national levels. The Legislative Director shall stay updated and informed on all relevant legislative and policy developments and present regular policy updates to Lobby Corps officers and members, and relevant AS Executive Offices. The Legislative Director shall become fluent in Federal and Statewide legislative tracking software, and possess relevant knowledge about the Federal and Statewide legislative process, including the budget/appropriations, committee workflows, the positions and record of student-friendly legislators. Like all officers, they are required to attend all Lobby Corps meetings and quarterly retreats, and are required to hold two (2) regularly scheduled office hours per week or more.
