Duties and powers of the QT Disabilities Advocacy Coordinator
QT Disabilities Advocacy Coordinators are disabled students of the UCSB LGBTQIA+ community.
1.)Organize and facilitate events or community spaces regarding the intersection of LGBTQIA+ identities and disabilities, developing at least one event or project per school year to highlight this intersection and to promote disability justice awareness on campus.
2.)Be aware of and advocate for the needs of queer and trans disabled students on campus. Ensure all TQC events are inclusive and accessible to students, regardless of disability.
3.)Give consultation for accessibility inquiries from various campus entities or students regarding queer and trans disability issues or concerns.
4.)Manage accessibility initiatives for internal TQC events and projects.
5.)Serve as liaison to A.S. Commission on Disability Equity, the Americans With Disabilities Act Advisory Group, CAPS, the office of the Disabled Students Program, and other campus organizations dedicated to fighting ableism and uplifting disabled students’ voices.
6.)Attend all meetings, including PRIDE Committee meetings.
7.)Hold two (2) office hours per week
