College of Creative Studies Senator


One College of Creative Studies Senator position is vacant in the 70th Senate, students currently in the College of Creative Studies may apply for the position.  As a Senator, the basic responsibilities include attending weekly Senate meetings at 6:30PM on Wednesdays, holding a total of three hours of office hours a week, and serving as a liaison for designated Boards, Commissions, and Units. College of Creative Studies Senator represents the College of Creative Studies and serves as the Chair of the CCS Student Council. Please recognize that ASUCSB Senate is a heavy time commitment that will last throughout the full academic year.

Thank you for your interest in AS Senate! The application will close on October 13th at 10PM and interviews will be conducted throughout October 14-18. After the application closes, you will receive an email notifying you about whether or not you have been selected for an interview.

ABOUT ASSOCIATED STUDENTS:

Associated Students is a non-profit entity that is funded by student fees, serving as a student union for all undergraduates. By working with UC Administration, local, state, and federal stakeholders, Associated Students is able to help solve student issues by providing students with a diverse range of services and programs. Associated Students is comprised of a total of three branches: the Executive Branch (President, Internal Vice President, External Vice President of Local Affairs, External Vice President of Statewide Affairs, Student Advocate General), the Legislative Branch (Senate, Boards and Commissions, Administrative Committees), and the Judicial Branch.

Within the Legislative Branch is the Associated Students Senate, an entity comprised of elected representatives that serve as the policy-making body of Associated Students. As a whole, the Senate has authority over all Associated Students revenue and expenditures, approves the annual $14 million budget, serves as liaisons to all Boards, Commissions, and Units, holds public forums, participates in Senate group projects, and addresses student needs by providing resources that enhance the student experience at UCSB.
